  • Winter is (almost) here :(

I suppose I should be glad it is here because the sooner it comes, the sooner it is over. Christmas tree is up and it is quite cozy. I was sitting around think about how far along things were from last year. I didn't put a Christmas tree up since we had just moved in and the house still had a slight stench of cat. The kitchen and family room floors were still not covered with linoleum and carpet and I think that I was so eager to get everything painted that I made myself frustrated. So this year, the walls are painted and the rooms finished. I am so excited to have my tree up and the house done (for the most part). I have the ability to come home and actually make dinner and enjoy it in a warm house that is not overun with the smell of cat pee. Nice, huh?!!!

  • Soooo tired

I guess that is what I get for being out so late, huh? I went to my first Jimmy Buffet concert last night. It was very interesting but at the same time, very enjoyable hanging out with my friends. But that does not make today ok as I sit here ready to jump out of my skin and being so tired at the same time.

I came back on Sunday from my second boat trip this year. Those are never without drama but I am always so glad that I am not the one causing it. Other than that, it was a fun trip except that we did miss Travis, who would have normally been there had he still been with us.  He is missed very much. He was killed in a motorcycle accident on Sunday, July 13, the day after I got back from Florida. What a shock but things are gettin back to normal.

Need to walk around before I fall asleep, again :)

  • New Pixs

I am finally getting a little bit of time to post some before and after pictures of the house. I don't have any before of the living room but here are 2 of the living room and then the landscaping job that I am slowly working on. I am hoping to have a work of art when it is finally completed but that does take time.

This is before the demolition started. Bushes had been removed but still a stinky mess.

Better view of before and then after the mess had been cleaned up. It is taking awhile for the grass to grow but  it is looking much better than the mud pit that was there before.

My living room is coming together but even after 8 months, I can't seem to get too many pictures hung. I need to spend more time at home! Mary, you would love these chairs!!!

  • Rain, Rain, Go away!!!

Ahhh! Another rain has come but more like a teasing rain. It is thundering and lightening and the rain starts a little then stops. I am just waiting for the downpour. However, I do like the rain right now because it is watering my grass and that means that I don't have to.

I have fianlly almost finished my landscaping and will put pidtures up as soon as I can take them. Mary, you will be so surprised! And I will take pictures of the house as well.

I am going to National Convention again this year. Barb needed help so desparatly that I again am working in the evenings to help them get ready. Mixed emotions on that one. I hate using my summer evenings shut in but I am also excited about getting to be a part of the excitement again.

  • Another day, another issue

So it defiantly takes a little while but I am finally starting to see results. This soreness is not all in vain :) I am so ready to be back on normal food though!

I am headed to a Lincoln Day Dinner in Adams County tonight. I enjoy the drive but not when gas is $3.50/gallon. Ouch, this is going to hurt! Tomorrow morning I head to Howard county for Drozda's causus as he is leaving for North Carolina and will no longer be eligible for State Rep. I Also found out today that the City of Gary has not only given the day off  but bussed all of their 18 and older eligible High Schools Students to the Lake County clerks office to vote... for Obama. So ladies and gentlemen, take a look at your tax dollars at work! He I am sitting in the middle of all these poor schools calling for help for financing these schools for another year and to hear that they are using this money for a political agenda. Wait, now isn't that against the law??? Your political machine at work once again.

So there is my gripe for the day!
